So here we are in the USA having a great time, meeting lots of new friends and playing in some great places.
Our first stop was DC where we visited the Native American Indian, Air and Space and Natural History museums and played at the Folk Club of Reston and Herndon – great bunch of people there and we’re already looking forward to returning next year.
Down in Virginia we enjoyed talking with some of the music students at Longwood University then had a fabulous evening at a friend’s house in Richmond. There was a goodly amount of singing, playing and an even greater amount of catching up – it’s been a while.
The next day we had a very spontaneous jam session with some people at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Farmville, where we later played to help raise funds for this great organisation.
Then it was a long drive to Chattanooga and we had a great time playing in a bar that looked like something straight out of a Western movie – I wouldn’t have been surprised if a chorus line of Can Can girls appeared …..
Next we spent a couple of days in Nashville, played at the open mic at the famous Blue Bird Cafe and visited George Gruhn Vintage Guitars, and now we’re back in Chattanooga and staying at a beautiful house on a lake …. life is good …..
