Steve and I are packing our bags ready for the long drive down to the South West for some gigs. We’re really looking forward to this as it’s an area of the UK that has largely escaped our touring schedule thus far and besides that, it’s such a beautiful part of the country.
We’re also going to be meeting up with friends that we haven’t seen for a long time, jamming, doing a radio interview with Brian Player and dropping in on Duck Baker en route home …. oh, and Steve has requested a visit to Axminster Tools, which suits me fine!
Can I just start by making a plea that if you’re intending to come to any of our gigs, please, where possible, make advance reservations. Organisers increasingly contact me to ask that I encourage people to use telephone numbers, email addresses and ticket purchase links, all of which I have included in our gigs listing page.
Our first gig is at Boscastle Village Hall on Saturday 22nd April and we’re delighted that our friend Mike Silver, who lives locally, will be joining us as a guest.
Dreamer’s Folk at The Victoria Hotel in Redruth is our next gig on Monday 24th April. The club do usually meet on Sunday evenings but, just for this one, have had to change the day because of a prior commitment the pub had made.
On Tuesday 25th we drive North, and a bit East, where we’ll be playing at Bere Regis Music Night at The Drax Arms in Bere Regis. Very much looking forward to seeing some of our Dorset friends there.
Fast forward to May 4th and we’ll be in Peterborough at St. John’s Church for a morning session with pre-school children and parents – this is called the Piccolo Session and Steve and I have a lot of fun playing and doing lots of interactive ….. stuff! This date doesn’t appear on our gig list as it’s a bit of a deviation from our typical gigs, but if you’re nearby do come – starts at 10.30 – 11.30am.
The Tump Club at The Humber pub in Coventry is our next gig on Thursday 11th May. Lots of friends to catch up with there too.
To finish our run of gigs we’re playing on home turf at Bingham Folk Club on Friday 12th May, in the rugby club pavilion. We always look forward to playing at Bingham and catching up with everyone.
Thank you all for your continued support – Steve and I are very appreciative. XXXX
